Dear (Name Withheld):
The CofCC regrets losing you because you found the tone of my letter to be “smart-ass.” In three years, you are only the second person out of thousands claiming to be insulted. Admittedly, the letter is blunt, but it serves a specific purpose.
Here’s the way I see it: I’ve contributed well over $10,000 to the CofCC this year from personal funds, I write about 80% of the contents of the INFORMER and half the contents of the website, and I perform all the administrative functions and bookkeeping for the organization.
I do this without compensation of any kind. All I ask in return from Members is that they pay their annual Membership Fees on time, and notify me of changes to their addresses.
A great deal of my time is spent pursuing deadbeats — like yourself — who are perfectly content to receive their newspaper, but never give any thought to paying for it. Frankly, it’s a relief to delete such people, as I’ve done with you at your own request.
You ignored three Membership Renewals in 2018. Perhaps you don’t enjoy the INFORMER, but we don’t offer any coloring books for those who are as sensitive to “tone” as you appear to be.
