Emergency Ordinance Passed Due to Upcoming Rally in Pikeville

An emergency ordinance was passed this evening at the Pikeville City Commission meeting to ensure public welfare and safety during this weekend’s Traditionalist Worker Party rally set to be held in downtown Pikeville.

“Because of the rally and because of a lot of social media wording, reports and rumors out there and also there are now counter protest groups that are coming in looking at the possibility of inciting a riot or violence and to disguise their identity. So for the benefit of public welfare and safety the Commission elected to pass a model ordinance tonight that would prohibit somebody from wearing a mask or a hood in downtown or in the city of Pikeville within certain boundaries.”

Penalties for wearing a mask or hood in downtown Pikeville include a $250 dollar fine and up to 50 days in jail for a first offense and a $1000 fine and up to a year in jail for a second offense. The ordinance does not apply to children under 16 years of age. For additional exemptions to the ordinance visit www.pikevilleky.gov

How about THAT? A City Commission and a City Manager with the guts to do the right thing, which also happens to be the Constitutionally correct thing, as well.

Why should communist trash be permitted to censor free speech by attacking those who tell the truth about them?

The City Commission and City Manager deserve a “Thank You” for keeping the communist and criminal trash away from the patient and law-abiding demonstrators in Pikeville last weekend. However, it wasn’t members of the Traditionalist Workers Party and others who were being protected, it was the commie trash who were being protected by Pikeville officials…
